If in doubt .... Hacksaw through it
Sounds like Neon Tvs are non removeable bases ??
Has it got wall mounts ??
If not ... No more nails ??
I dont think the warranty guys would approve trying to remove plaster before they get to the screws !!

I have just done this today on a Samsung LCD.
I think it possible you may have overlooked this instruction in your manual.
If not I would imagine that if you went online and asked the makers they could explain the method they adopt.
Also try the dealers or seller.

You could consider the Acoustic Solutions CTVL26W3HD 26in HD Ready LCD TV. It's £50 above your budget from Argos.http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/zo…

Am I missing something here? Your question has both TVs listed at 15,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio! If that is true, then neither is better; they both are the same.

There's no way to tell. The manufacturers use different definitions and test metghids for contrast ration. So comparing numbers is meaningless.
Get professional revoiews of sets you're interested in for guidance.

You may have the TV set to antenna input instead of cable. Check that.
