I have a Westinghouse 27″ lcd tv and the words and sound is like .5 seconds behind the video. On video games such as guitar hero, its impossible to play.. On cable and movies the video is faster than the sound. I don’t know how to fix it. I don’t have any other speakers hooked up to it, so it is something with the tv. Anyone have any ideas?

The problem is your using HDMI cable and the sound arrives slightly behind the TV. Try using analog audio cables and component video cables, this may fix the audio lag.
Or you can buy a receiver with audio delay features. Onkyo can go from -200ms to 0 while Denon can go from -200ms to 0 to +200 ms.
Different stations also contribute to this. TBS is notorious for having sound that is a few microseconds off. But these are normally when people are using HDMI cables and the digital picture is processing faster than the digital audio, hence why some people can fix the issue by reverting back to analog cables.
